What happens when a community comes together around an idea? Sometimes, it starts with a conversation about what could be. Other times, it's a financial contribution that helps get a project off the ground. But often, the greatest impact comes from what happens after that initial investment, when others get involved, new opportunities emerge, and an idea grows into something far bigger than originally imagined.

Established through the Solomon Valley Community Foundation, the fund was created to provide a lasting resource dedicated specifically to supporting Hunter, Kansas. As the fund grows, grants recommended by a local Hunter Huntsman Fund advisory committee will support projects and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents of the community.

During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded over $39,000 in grants to 14 projects throughout Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:
