SVCF Awards Fall Grants

During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded over $39,000 in grants to 14 projects throughout Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:


  • Mitchell County Rural Fire District #1 (Equipping New Volunteer Firefighters)

  • City of Beloit Police Department (Shared Public Safety Drone Initiative)

  • Beloit Ministerial Association (Angel Tree Holiday Food Basket)

  • Mitchell County Fair Association (Racetrack Lighting Project)

  • City of Cawker City (Public Safety AED Project)

  • City of Glen Elder (Public Accessible AED Machines)

  • Tipton Christian School, Inc. (Elementary Music and Art Resources)

  • Mitchell County Tourism (Driftscape App Implementation)

  • North Central Kansas Community Network (Building and Facade Improvement)

  • Mitchell County Dive Team (Dive Team Rescue Helmets)

  • Tipton Catholic High School (Weight Room Renovation/Upgrades)

  • Fort Hays Tech | North Central Foundation (Outdoor Recreation & Gathering Spaces)

  • The Pet Connection (Feral Cat Fix & Community Animal Care Program)


This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the SVCF Impact Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life.
