SVCF Awards Fall Grants

During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded just over $41,000 in grants to 12 projects throughout Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:


  • City of Hunter, to support the Hunter Shelter & Multi-Age Recreation Project

  • Mitchell County Strong, in support of the Mitchell County Childcare Coalition

  • USD 272, to support the Cawker City Fitness Center Revitalization

  • VFW Post 6242, for the purchase of a US Flag drop box

  • Tipton Christian School, Inc., in support of a Life Skills Class

  • Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation, in support of the Rooted in Care: Growing Tomorrow's Caregivers Today initiative

  • USD 273, in support of a new press box for the Beloit High School softball field

  • City of Tipton, in support of the All Play Multi-Sport Net Project

  • USD 273, for the Trojan Threads storefront

  • St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in support of St. John's school hearing screenings

  • The Pet Connection, in support of the Community Animal Care Initiative

  • St. John's Catholic School, for the purchase of an embroidery machine


This round of grants was made possible by the community foundation's Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the SVCF Impact Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community's quality of life.
