The Solomon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is proud to announce the results of this year’s Give to Grow, a one-day matching gift event that was held on April 30, 2025, and raised a total of $138,370 to support nonprofit organizations serving Mitchell County.
Now in its second year, Give to Grow is designed to shine a spotlight on local nonprofits and the meaningful work they do every day. The event encourages community giving by offering matching dollars to amplify each donation—an effort led and funded by SVCF with the support of the Patterson Family Foundation and Keith and Debra Houghton. This year’s match pool totaled $50,000, up from $30,000 the year prior.

A record 28 area nonprofits participated, raising $88,320 from 476 individual donors. With the added support of the SVCF match, these organizations received a total of $138,320 in combined funding to support both current needs and long-term goals.
“Our goal with Give to Grow is twofold—raise awareness for our local nonprofits and help them build lasting sustainability,” said Julia Rabe, Executive Director of SVCF. “We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our community and the momentum this event continues to build.”
As a community foundation, SVCF’s mission is rooted in strengthening Mitchell County through philanthropy, with a particular focus on building permanent endowments for local organizations. Endowments are invested funds that generate annual earnings, creating a reliable source of income year after year. This long-term approach allows nonprofits to weather financial uncertainty, plan for the future, and expand their impact over time.
The SVCF board and staff extend sincere thanks to the donors, volunteers, event sponsors, and nonprofit partners who made this event a success. Give to Grow continues to demonstrate what’s possible when a community comes together to invest in its future.
