Tom Lynch believed every child deserved a fair shot- on the court, in the classroom, and in life. A beloved teacher, principal, and coach in Glasco, Kansas, Tom spent decades pouring into the lives of young people, always with a steady hand, a kind word, and a deep love for learning and competition.

Born and raised on a family farm in rural Kansas, Tom brought his quiet determination and work ethic into everything he did. After graduating with his Bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and later earning a Master's degree from Fort Hays State, he began teaching math in Glasco in 1968. Over the years, he became not just a fixture but a foundation within the community, mentoring students, leading as a principal, and coaching with heart and humility.

One of Tom's most memorable contributions was Puppy Basketball, a Saturday morning camp he started for children in grades 2nd through 5th. Focused on fundamentals, teamwork, and character, Puppy Basketball became a beloved tradition in the community, and one that his family recently brought back with the participation of former NCAA and WNBA superstar Jackie Stiles.

To honor his life and the countless young people he inspired, Tom's family established the Tom Lynch Educational Scholarship through the Solomon Valley Community Foundation. It's a lasting tribute to a man who devoted himself to shaping lives and nurturing potential, helping future generations pursue their dreams through education.
