The Solomon Valley Community Foundation's annual Give to Grow event once again demonstrated the power of community generosity, raising a total of $134,519.31 for local nonprofit organizations in a single day of giving.

The total includes $84,519.31 in donations from 497 individual gifts, as well as $50,000 in matching funds provided by the Solomon Valley Community Foundation. In all, 32 nonprofit organizations benefited from this year's campaign, strengthening their ability to serve communities across Mitchell County and the surrounding area.

Now in its third year, Give to Grow has generated a cumulative investment of $379,606.31 in local nonprofits, building long-term sustainability through endowed funds and strengthening the region's charitable landscape.

Give to Grow is designed to inspire charitable giving while helping nonprofits grow their endowments, creating a lasting source of support for the future. But beyond the dollars raised, organizations say the event continues to foster something equally valuable: connection.

"The in-person event was so successful this year. It just had the feeling of a place you want to be," said Julia Rabe, Executive Director of SVCF. "The networking and connections made between nonprofits and community members are just as important as the donations raised."

This year also saw an increase in participation from families—something the foundation has intentionally worked to encourage. Initiatives like providing $10 in Give to Grow cash to the first 100 children, sponsored by Treb Construction, along with the continued program giving all Mitchell County 5th graders $20 to donate—sponsored by Guarantee State Bank & Trust and SMC Concrete & Construction—help foster a spirit of generosity in the next generation.

"It was espcially meaningful to see more parents attending with their children," Rabe said. " We want to help set the tone for giving and giving back, and working with families and youth is a great place to start."

With strong community support and growing participation each year, Give to Grow continues to expand its impact. This year, a new partnership with Fort Hays Tech North Central brought added value by providing lunch on-site. By focusing on building new collaborations each year, the initiative continues to strengthen our communities.
